 
History of Meadowvale Village The little village of Meadowvale is a community located in the north-western part of Mississauga, at the junction of Derry Road West and the Second Line. Meadowvale was established in the 1820s by Irish immigrants from the state of New York. In the village's early years, the main industry was milling, with the mills drawing power from the Credit River. By the 1850s Meadowvale had two hotels; a wagon shop and a school ,Gooderham and Worts owned and operated many businesses in the village in the 1860s and 1870s, including a mill. Later the area became popular as a haven for artists. Many of the homes were built in the mid-19th century and are still standing. Meadowvale was selected to be the name of a new town community for the newly (1974) incorporated City of Mississauga; the name was applied to a development a few miles west along Derry Road. In recognition of its many historical buildings, Meadowvale Village was recognized as Ontario's first Heritage Conservation District in 1980. To reduce traffic through the village, the Derry Road by-pass was built in the mid-1990s,located about one kilometre north of the Old Derry Road, the new Derry Road is a major east-west traffic artery running from Mississauga Road to Mavis Road. Me & family moved to Meadowvale Village in a lovely house on Shade House Court almost 3 years ago , we could not made better choice ,our kids love it, lots of young families with kids & friendly neighbourhood ,this year our neighbourhood hosted our first Shade House Court Street Party , lots of vine, cheese and good neighbour to neighbour time . One of the most beautiful parts of Meadowvale Village is the old heritage district, In fact, people tend to refer to Meadowvale Village as the “Old Meadowvale Village” due to its secluded location & heritage background. In Meadowvale Village you’ll find well balanced mix of Heritage Homes & brand new Luxury Homes, lifestyle for every taste.
